struggle

We wake up with distaste
making choices in haste
without much thought or consideration
eventually leading to our damnation
an endless battle of choosing emotion
over the logic that puts us in motion.
Our problems are complex and layered
while the enemy grows, in his lair.
We have come to use others as a crutch
to later realize we are ungrateful, much.
Pushing those back who told us hard truths
and inviting those who rather fill our sweet tooth.
Little do we know the power is within
just take a step back and breathe in.
If we just surrounded ourselves around love
we would be free from our chains, thereof.
Let’s pray for those who see no light
and lift them up so they can fight.
